Dr. Jacobs is a Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Nutritional Sciences at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the University of Arizona Cancer Center. She is currently the Principal Investigator of an R01 designed to investigate genetic heterogeneity of treatment effect of selenium supplementation for chemoprevention. She has extensive experience in the assessment of genetic and lifestyle risk factors for chronic disease. Dr. Jacobs is currently leading a Genome Wide Association Study (GWAS) to study the differences in mild/moderate vs. severe cases of COVID19 in Pima County, AZ. She is also part of the leadership team for the CoVhort.
