Dametreea Carr McCuin, MPH, is a Research Program Administration Officer in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department at the University of Arizona’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. She practiced infectious disease and injury prevention epidemiology for two years at a county health department before continuing with epidemiology work at The University of Arizona. Currently, Dametreea works with UA’s Student Aid for Field Epidemiology Response (SAFER) program. Through SAFER, she helps coordinate and implement COVID-19 case investigations and contact tracing for the university and multiple counties across Southern Arizona. In addition to COVID-19 projects, Dametreea trains and manages SAFER staff and interns, provides support for new infectious disease research projects, assists with grant writing, and helps coordinate volunteers at UA’s state run COVID-19 vaccine Point of Distribution (POD).
