Magdiel Habila, MPH, is an investigator on the genetics of COVID-19. Prior to working on the COVID-19 project, Ms. Habila earned her MPH at the University of Arizona, at which time she gained experience working in global cancer epidemiology research in Tanzania. Her research interests include cancer epidemiology, health disparities, global health, and the relationships between infectious and chronic diseases - including the long-term effects of COVID-19 infection. She is currently a doctoral student studying Epidemiology at the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health conducting research on the longitudinal trends of colorectal cancer in Southern Arizona.
