Dr. Lynn Gerald is Canyon Ranch Endowed Chair & Professor in the Department of Health Promotion Sciences and Associate Director of Clinical Research for the Asthma and Airways Disease Research Center. Her area of expertise is in pediatric asthma and she has maintained continuous funding from NHLBI in school-based asthma interventions for 20 years. She was instrumental in passing legislation allowing stock inhalers for schools in Arizona and has been serving as a consultant for other states seeking to pass similar legislation. Dr. Gerald recently collaborated with the Pima County Health Department and the Pima County Superintendent’s Office to implement a stock inhaler programin all300 Pima County schools. Currently, she serves as PI of the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Center at the University of Arizona and Co-PI of a U01 that is implementing proven effective interventions on the Navajo Nation to improve health disparities in pediatric asthma. Dr. Gerald has a strong background in implementation of community programs to improve pediatric health equity.
